In light of news of the possibility of the NVC starting to process cases with those with up to April, 2008 PDs I think it is time that those with 2007-2009 PDs have their own thread.

Please treat this thread just like our 2004-2006 PD tracker thread and supply relevant data for tracking purposes.

**Those who wants to share may please state at least their PD, state whether EB3 ROW, Philippines, India, etc..  and share if they have received their packet 4 or interview appointments and the date of the interview date.

Example:

PD: Jan. 1, 2007
Visa Category: EB3 ROW, Philippines, India, China (mainland), Mexico, etc...

Status:  1) Case just labeled as documentarily qualified - no packet 4 yet,  or
             2) Just received packet 4/interview appointment

Interview date: 1) No interview date yet
                         2) Oct. 15 2008

Current status: 1) Awaiting passport stamped by US Embassy/Consulate
                         2) Received passport and duly stamped by US Embassy/Consulate

P.S.
ROW is shortcut for Rest of World.  It is also called WW for worldwide.  Macau and Hong Kong nationals are under ROW and not under China as the China category only pertains to mainland China.

All countries outside Philippines, China (mainland), India and Mexico falls under ROW.

Someone mentioned it here: http://foreign-nurse.lefora.com/2009/08/23/time-to-check-nvc-for-updates-on-your-status-for-t/page2/#post14697845

Yes, if true, it could mean a big jump in the Oct. 2009 VB but we still have to wait and see.

Hi guys. I emailed NVC a couple of days ago asking about the current status of my application but I got an auto response saying that they don't anymore give out informations unless you have all the things they listed but the only thing I could not provide them was the petitioner's birthday who turns out to be our immigration lawyer. Am I the only one who has trouble contacting the NVC by email?

PD: June 14, 2006
Case No.: MNL**********
Category: EB3
No data available whether documentarily qualified or not

Hi, calirn.  They send out the same auto-response to everyone just to acknowledge that they have received your e-mail and that is in their records so that people won't e-mail them repeatedly or spam them.  They send out the same auto-response whether you've done it right or not.

If you provided them with everything and you think all are correct you only have to wait; if the info. you gave is incomplete or not the same as you provided in your Ds-230, they will not answer for security reasons.

This is what is only needed:

1) NVC case number or CIS receipt number:
2) Name of the petitioning company:
3) Beneficiary's name and date of birth:
4) Your full name:

The other format is if the one e-mailing them is your lawyer.

If the beneficiary (you) is the one e-mailing them, you follow the format above. The name of the petitoining company should be the exact same name you provided in the Ds-230 form, you can also provide the address as well but everything should be exactly the same as what you wrote in your Ds-230 form.  Number 3 and 4 maybe the same person if you are the one e-mailing them directly.
So, it's really just 3 information that is needed in most cases.

For more info about the proper procedure of contacting NVC, best to go here:
http://foreign-nurse.lefora.com/2008/10/13/contacting-the-national-visa-center/page1/#post1814461

Are you sure your petitioner is also your immigration lawyer?  Are you sure it's not the name of a hospital, nursing home, hospice, etc.... Please double check on your copy of the Ds-230 form.

If you think you gave all the correct data, you just need to wait and as mentioned, it could take anywhere bet. 1-3 weeks for a response.

P.S. So that this thread does not go off-topic pls. either post ff-up queries to the 'Contacting NVC' thread or the '2004-2006 PD tracker' thread instead.  Thank you for understanding.

Hi, Grace and welcome again. smile

Your PD is a bit new.  When does your I-140 been approved? Do you know your NVC case number already?

With that PD, I expect that the National Visa Center (NVC) hasn't even asked for your Visa Fee bill and Ds-230 form (visa application form), presuming your I-140 was already approved.

thanks for the reply t-cell =)
oh i see.. yes it is new i got my approval notice on feb 17, 2009
and the form says my priority date is on june 16, 2008
does the nvc case number refer to the receipt numbeR?
i think they did not ask for a ds-230 yet what is that?
my aunt (living in the usa) is the one helping us get there so i have no clue about the other steps i need to do. i heard of this retrogression and its frustrating.. thinking about my pd i think i am going for a long wait since i heard nurses with pd of 2005 are still not being processed

There is always hope, specially if the comprehensive immigration reform (CIR) gets tackled and passed by the US Congress.

For your case, the next steps for you is to wait for case to be processed by NVC.

NVC processing is basically,

1) NVC sends visa fee bill request to petitioner/employer/agency or immigration lawyer
2) No. 1 should respond promptly and send the visa fee payment to NVC
3) Once received, NVC sends the DS-230 forms (Visa applications forms) w/ barcode to No. 1
4) No. 1 will send the form to you (the beneficiary) and you should fill it up and signed.  Your lawyer will help you answer the forms.
5) You send the forms back to No. 1 (together with NBI clearance, pics, birth cert., marriage cert. if married, etc..) and they send it back to NVC
6) NVC will review your documents and then label your case as 'documentarily qualified' if everything is in order.
7) NVC holds your case until your PD becomes 'current' or very near being 'current' and only then will they send your case to the embassy.

It is quite a long process that can take a few months and they can stop anytime depending on what the cut-off dates will be on the monthly visa bulletins w/c what makes it frustrating and why it can take longer than it should.

Don't worry your still young and if a miracle like immigration reform happens, you don't have to wait as long as we with 2005 and 2006 PDs have waited.

hi there t-cell thanks for replying
i think we are already in step number 7.. we have to wait for the visa to be current because recent update with my lawyer said that our visa petition has been approved and it will be forwarded to nvc for appropriate consulate action. are we on the same situation? we have to wait for the visa issuance?
i do hope the reforms can come out soon.
i think that the october visa bulletin may shed some light to our situation
thanks again t-cell =)

Hi grace05

Your processing is quite fast huh.... I mean your PD is June of 2008 and now you are already documentarily qualified. Wheeeww! Pretty fast! I got a PD of July 2008 and I-140 was approved last November 2008 and we even did not receive yet the visa fee bill. Well good for you grace05.. :)

Hi Grace I think you are in step # 2 since you said that you haven't seen the DS230s  yet plus you haven't submitted the other docs needed (NBI clearances, NSO cert. BCs, etc..). DS230s are forms that you have to sign so its not possible for someone else to fill these papers up for you...Goddluck to us all!

Hi, Grace. The Ds-230 (visa application) can actually be easily downloaded but if NVC did not receive the visa fees first and doesn't give the go-signal to send it in, they will not honor any Ds-230 forms sent to them.  How NVC will know? After paying the visa fees they actually sends a barcode as well and that barcode has to be sent together with the forms and your supporting documents (NBI, birth certs., etc..)

You can download a copy of the Ds-230 forms here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_1342.html  but is useless if fees weren't paid for yet and if NVC doesn't give the go-signal to send it in (w/c depends on the monthly cut-off dates).

So, was that the forms you've signed?

If you want to personally know your exact status with NVC, you can e-mail or call them and ask for your status.  I suggest you do this.

Just refer to this thread on how to contact NVC:

What do you think my PD? Do you think it will be included in the processing when the retro is lifted?
What should be the next step? I guess i should be waiting for the visa fee bill, am I right?
