Al Franken will finally be seated as Senator as the Minnesota Supreme Court has finally declared him the winner over Republican Norm Coleman.  The latter did not anymore contest the Supreme Court's unanimous ruling.  It's been 8 months since the Nov. elections.  He is expected to be formally seated when the Senate re-convenes after the week long 4th of July weekend recess.

Al Franken's win gives the Democrats 60 seats in the Senate in which if they choose to vote by block means they can have a filibuster-proof bill.  That is if they wanted to.

Senator-elect Al Franken is pro-immigration reformpro-universal health care and pro-climate/energy reform.  Three issues, the democrats wants to be done within this year.
