Hello Lem04,
When did you start Canada immigration, any progress?
How much does it cost for whole process to get Canadian P.R. for a couple? Total amount.
What about job offer at canada for a foreign nurse?

Hello Lem04. The recommendation to take SEC does not apply to all applicants. In British Columbia, seldom do they require filipino nurse applicants to go for SEC unless they are not satisfied with the nursing education you've went through that is reflected on your Nursing TOR and RLE records.  This confirms the fact that applications are being assessed individually.

I have two friends who graduated from UST who weren't required to go for SEC by the CRNBC. I also know of a friend referred for SEC, so he ended up applying for Nova Scotia because he wanted to go there under TWP instead of as a landed immigrant.

Anyway, worry free because if you have applied for immigrant visa under the skilled-worker category, you can certainly have this done upon landing Canada.  Full SEC is just a two-day session.

If you may permit me to ask some few things, What made you go for British Columbia? Have you joined with a consultancy firm? Did you already start with your Canadian Immgrant application?

God Bless you. Keep us posted.

Hello Pertune03.

In which Province of Canada do you want to practice as LPN? As what I have learned, you also have to apply for registration as LPN in the place/jurisdiction you wish to work with.

Granting that you are already qualified to practice as LPN, you can then hook to a recruitment agency who is deploying LPNs in Canada or you can also possibly apply direct through www.careerbeacon.com or www.jobbank.gc.ca.

Hope this helps. God Bless and Good Luck

Hello Nursing.

In Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, you can submit your application and all the other pertinent documents ahead of time, then your IELTS TRF to follow. However, the nursing regulatory body cannot grant you with the eligibility until they have received a copy of your IELTS TRF.

In what province of Canada you are seeking for eligibility?

Good Luck and God Bless

hi lem04,

Sorry for the late reply. Anyway, I wasn't asked to take the SEC. CRNBC granted my eligibility in 2 months time. Had such last September of 2008. Up until now, I still don't have an employer. How about you? Do you have an employer already?

like you, I still do not have any,  i browsed in every canadian agency/employer and all I found is that they need an eligibility, I even emailed them but still they need eligibility.  As of now, I am applied as an immigrant and what worries me most is that landing there without a job.

Hello Nursing.

Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

You may want to read more on how to apply for eligibility with Nurses Association of New Brunswick. We have made a thread that specifically discusses nursing in NB. Here is the link:

http://foreign-nurse.lefora.com/2009/10/25/foreign-nurses-bound-for-new-brunswick-canada/page1/

How many years of experience do you have?

______________________________

Regarding US immigration. Well we are still on severe retrogression. New applicants may possibly wait for more than 5 years for a chance of a green card unless there will be a legislation that would ease the backlog and add more visas for nurses.  We are expecting for a positive CIR in the near future.

God Bless you.

NOTE: Please check your inbox, I have sent out a message for you.

Hello Zzp. Welcome to www.foreign-nurse.lefora.com

Unless the Government of Canada had said so officially, we shouldn't believe any hearsays.  I personally didn't have any news relating to that rumors.  Hopefully it's not true.

I know of some provinces in Canada like Alberta that have slowed down in taking-in foreign nurses. But that does not speak about the whole of the country.

Anyway, can you please PM to me the link of the blog site where you read that info.?

Thanks and God Bless you.

Also, I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the requirements, rules, polices for each province of Canada would be different from one another.  This is the same way that each US State has their own rules, policies and requirements when applying in the US.

So, those who have applied in one province of Canada should always keep this fact in mind so that you don't assume that things would be the same for people applying in another province and therefore give out advices that may only confuse applicants some more rather than make it clearer for them.

For applicants, keep this fact in mind as well so that you give more weight to those giving advice that has personal knowledge or experience in applying on a specific province rather than those from people giving advice that has applied from a different province.

Sometimes, the requirements, rules, polices and leniency of the different Boards may be night and day from one province to another.

hi,
For Alberta applicants, hope this will help.
http://www.nurses.ab.ca/carna-admin/Uploads/IEN_registration_info_sheet.pdf

I have an ICHP certificate too which will expire in 2011. I found the forum about renewing ICHP certificate useful. Thank you. I am currently working in Alberta as a caregiver and planning to take the CRNE someday. Just wondering if the US Credentials verification applicable to Canada credentials verification or I have to undergo the same long process of sending documents to my school and to PRC. (Professional Regulations Commission- Philippines). Hoping for some idea about this. Thank you.

Hi.

You can check the requirements for live in caregiver program on this site:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLish/work/caregiver/apply-who.asp

On my case, i didn't take the caregiver course. I think for licensed nurses in the Philippines, you only need a year of hospital experience in order to apply.
Thank You.
