I would like to say welcome ABOARD. As a regular member of this forum, I just want to let everyone know that eversince the forum begun, Our respected admin and family members has as always, maintained a positive attitude with almost everything. Yes we are so much aware of the crisis, recession, and everything that slimmers our american dream, but we do continue to hope for the best, while at the same time expecting for the worse. This has been the FOREIGN-NURSE LEFORA all this time, and we continue to aspire for something great and looking forward for more members with same positive outlook in life. Our unique and great passion to share our thoughts, our ideals, our plans, our dreams has made this forum a totally ONE OF A KIND.

Yes I agree with you. With crisis USA is facing now, no assurances for job offer. I believe much of our members in here are already in touch with their employers regarding this matter.

A PD becoming current still does and will always matter same like Job Offers also does.

Would like to greet everyone Happy Holidays.

May we see each other sometime soon in USA. Preferably, this 2009. Hopefully, The year for answered prayers.

Godbless. Remember what cutienurse says, "PRAY without ceasing".

hi to everyone,
with the current financial situation now of us of a, i guess it is not the question now if your pd is current but rather if you still have an updated job order. better ask your employers if you have an access to them

-mdturnrn

Hi and welcome. Smile

Just as nurseidol previously posted, everything else matters as well besides from having an updated job offer.

Also, not having an updated job offer isn't necessarily because of the big "R" either.

Many applicants that has a 2004 and 2005 PD and still not in the US would mean there had been problems somewhere during the course of the process and it wasn't definitely related to the recession.  You can ask your co-members here with 2004 and 2005 PDs and ask what were the problems.  It wasn't related to the current recession.  In fact, having a 2004 or a 2005 PD is within the time of the "Schedule A" visas where everything was fast-tracked that was available from May, 2005 until Nov. 2006.

Talks of a possible recession in the US and ultimately a global recession only started being talked about during the 1st qtr of 2008 and was only being significantly felt sometime mid-2008 and the big "R" in the US was only confirmed very recently.

In addition, no one really knows up to when the recession will last.  Some are already predicting that the US will stabilize sometime mid 2009 or so and maybe start a small recovery in late 2009 or so.  Also, no one knows exactly when one will be 'current' exactly.  For all we know the recession may be over already by that time.  Many has already been waiting for 2, 3, 5 years.   I just don't think a recession that possibly may last only a year or two (cross-fingers) will deter some applicants that has waited for so long already.  And the US is already in recession since Dec. 2007.  They are one year into the recession already.  Has anyone been called up specifically from Dec. 2007 and up to now saying they are canceling petitions? Why? The employers are also optimistic that by the time their applicants' case become current that everything will still be fine.  If they are not easily giving up and still hoping or wishing for the best then why should an applicant easily give up as well?

Last but not least, even though there is a recession and there are tremendous job losses in the US right now healthcare in general, isn't really affected that much. In fact, the healthcare sector added jobs during the time that there was suppose to be a recession.  You can refer to this thread for further details: http://foreign-nurse.lefora.com/2008/12/05/us-economy-sheds-533000-jobs-in-november-total-of--2/page1/

And we are constantly getting reliable and reputable news that there is still a nursing shortage and that in some States it is being projected to even get worse in the years to come.  There are areas of course, that there are minimal to nil shortages but nationally there still is a shortage and nationally, it is projected by reliable and reputable, unbias  studies to worsen in the years to come.  You can refer to this thread for further details: http://foreign-nurse.lefora.com/2008/12/09/uscis-ombudsman-recommends-expediting-processing-o/page1/

Try to hang on there.  Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Hi, alex and welcome to the forum. Smile

Just want to ask if the updated job offer was still from the original facility.   It seems that way though but just want for you to confirm it.  It looks like everything is going to be ok (knock on wood).

Please update us here once you get passport back contaning your visas and thanks for sharing the good news.   Cool

Best of luck to you and your family.  Innocent

Happy New Year everyone=)

I would like to share my PD too. My former PD is dated May, 2005 it's so sad it's wasted for some reasons, I couldn't even get the old PD since it's RFE almost approved but not... anyways,I am hoping that things will go smoothly for my case now especially this year since my VS and NCLEX will be expiring in 2010.

Visa Category: EB3 ROW/Philippines
-my husband is Burmese, somehow I received NVC
letter(DS3032) w/ my chargeability Burma..
but in the packet 3 its back to Phils.

PD: Nov. 21, 2006

Case Approved: February 13, 2008

Choice of Agent letter: April 14, 2008

IV Fee bills letter: June 2008

IV fee bills paid for my husband: first wk of October '08
daughter? no bills asked yet.

PAcket 3 arrived in my agency- July 3, 2008

Mailed to my former address: Aug, 2008
- My agency communicate with me once in a while thru email, but they didn't tell me they send already my packet 3, and I gave birth and we moved to another place, hence I didn't received it.

Packet 3 mailed again Nov 2008- my agency started to call me directly via phone and asked if I have received my packet already... it's my fault I didn't send them my current address.

Mailed the packet 3 again...and received it.

Dec- apply for Thai police clearance which took us about 30 mins. or less than that... ( so proud of their system here) but waiting part is long... 1 month almost..and now I'm still waiting for it.

*I assume my agency paid for my husband's fee bill first because we sent the money Oct. but the packet arrived July. My agency also asked for my daughter's passport and birth certificate but i haven't received any fee bill for her.

When I asked my agency if I will put our daughter as following to join since NVC haven't asked for fee bill for her yet, my agency told me to write accompanying me. I have read that our case will not be processed if we will write it like that... but I don't know I'm waiting for my agency to answer me concerning that.

Things has been topsy-turvy, I hope things will be better for us this coming new year! God bless and thanks everyone!

Hello Katkris. Welcome to the family.

We are neighbors. My PD is just 4 days after yours.

I am pretty sure that we will be getting our packet four soon. May not be in the coming few months, but gut feeling in this fiscal year.

Let us keep our fingers crossed, remain hopeful and be the best that we can be.

The new year must bring another hope for all of us. Counting little more days and the Feb2009 VB is right out. Fasten your seatbelt and be ready for another ride. hehe.

God Bless and Happy New Year sa lahat.

Don't presume anything.  While waiting for your Thai police clearance try finding out if your husband's visa fee bill has been paid for.  You can ask NVC directly and while at it, try to ask if they can change it from MNL to a US embassy or consulate in Thailand instead so that you don't have to go back to Manila just for an interview if you plan to continue to be in Thailand in the near future.  Just my suggestions, of course.

-t-cell

Thanks Mr. T-cell for the reminders. I already asked them about my spouse visa fee bill and they told me they have filed already... However, when I asked them about my daughter what to put, I haven't received any fee bill for her yet, but since they asked her documents too, they told me to put her accompanying us. Is it possible? I guess I have to check them on that again.. although I'm being redundant already... about my consular post, it's a mistake, my consular post is here in Bangkok and it shows cause my case number is starting in BNK.... thanks so much and I feel not alone in this quest! I thank God for having this forum with genuine people whose willing to help and share what they know! God bless everyone=)

Hi, jed32 and welcome to the family. Smile

Can you please give us some more details on what exactly are the problems you and your family is currently having and what is your current situation/status.

I know the question that some may be thinking of is that is there even a problem? As we see that you already had the interview last June 4, 2008.  Don't you have your visa yet?
