hi I'm a nurse from Philippines I would like to gather some estimates when I can I get my Visa. Your response will be highly appreciated.

PD- June 29, 2007
I140 approved- July 12, 2007 under premium processing
Case Status- no idea since it's my agency's policy not to inform us with our case number so no chance of knowing my status by myself.

Thank you!

Hi.  It's quite hard already to predict when you'll get your visas by itself, even an immigration lawyer like Atty. Ron Gotcher wouldn't even venture into making such predictions.  It's doubly hard if you don't know your case number.  Anyone can basically say anything to you and you wouldn't know if it's true or not.   You wouldn't know either if it were denied, re-filed, denied and re-filed again,  etc....

We won't also know for sure if your case was filed under premium processing since there is no way we can check w/o a case number.

Sorry, if I couldn't give you a positive comment. Embarassed  The delays on the immigration side is just one part of the whole process, another part is if your agency is able to do everthing right the first time around and on time everytime.  Nurses with 2004 and 2005 PDs who are still not in the US by now will vouch that your agency doing their job right and on time is a big part of everything.

My advice would be that clients under your agency make a non-confrontational petition to give your case numbers to each one.  You can properly word it to make it appear that the reason you would want it is so that you can check  and update yourselves rather keep bothering them of any updates.

Goodluck.

I am really disappointed to learn why an agency like yours is prohibiting applicants from learning their case numbers. There must be something with this. You are a BIG part of the immigration process, thus it is also your right to know the present status of your case by directly verifying it with NVC, USCIS or whatever body.

It's hard to remain blind these days, or else, you might get fooled and God forbid. May we know what agency you belong?

Anyway, God Bless. The way I look at it, You still have to wait for 3-5 years, unless retrogression will be lifted. I then suggest you to venture nursing in other countries in the meantime.

thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. i really appreciate it. i tried to ask my case number from my agency but they really won't provide us for reasons that may be of beneficial to them only...but thankfully i'm sure about the premium processing since they forwarded to me the email notification of my I140 approval from Texas Service Center. It was filed just a couple of days prior to the suspension of premium processing because of the July 2007 VB fiasco. I'm sorry I can't provide the name of my agency it would be unethical on my part... I tried to apply in NZ but they won't accept second coursers already so I'm stuck here I guess while waiting for my U.S dreams to come true. Again, thank you so much. 3 to 5 years of waiting is still worth the wait...

Hello Marj. So you are amongst of the lucky ones who were able to file the I140 under the premium processing. Great to know that you are really certain that you have been filed using the premium processing route. My 2nd I140 was also filed using this route and it was really that quicky. I am just quite blurry with the "EMAIL NOTIFICATION" you got stating that you were filed under premium processing, if I am not mistaken you are referring this to your I140 approval notice. And if this is same, there is no way in that notice that a case number is not shown. The case number is revealed at the left, top most side of the I140 approval notice. Starts with three letters followed by 10 digits. Please have it check once more.

I am sorry for the curiousity of wanting to know the name of you agency. Never meant and will never will. But I guess things must be discussed well since I've never seen any agency before not disclosing the case number to any of their applicants. I'm sorry but quite unethical from their part.

I hope and pray that everything would be fine with your application. Yes you are right, 3-5 years is worth the wait. Just keep yourself busy for now. Be acive with nursing profession and keep on believing that someday, you'll be a part of America's health care system.

Goodluck and Godspeed

Thanks for your reply nurse idol. I guessed my agency deleted the case number of that email notification...They told us that they have a very good immigration attorney to take care of everything and that having too many heads to do the follow ups would only be chaotic...I have already entrusted everything up to God. I believe it was His will that I got into this agency as well as getting through the premium processing just right before it was suspended...I believe my prayers had been answered...Good luck to us all...

Hello Marge. I was really surprised to hear that they don't accept 2nd coursers in NZ. What could be their reason? Anyway, have you thought of Canada? A former classmate of mine(also a 2nd courser) just left for Canada last month on a working visa, which is renewable every year. Working their would really kill time and before you know it, you're already current. I wish I could bring back time. If I knew we would wait this long, I would have gone and worked there while waiting for our PD to become current. Anyway, just my opinion.
To the rest of you guys, greetings! This is my first post here. Like most of you, I'm still waiting for packet4 to arrive, case completed at NVC(don't know how many times already).hehehehe! My PD is NOV2005. I hope the next VB will bring good news to all of us!

Hello tabaching dj and usrn08. Seems that I know you well hehe...How's everything? glad you've joined in this forum.

Marj, I like the way you see things. A positive outlook in life would definitely lead you to a brighter future. I just hope and pray America would wake up one day soon realizing that they are such at the losing end not welcoming us in their Health System at the EARLIEST.

I dont think there is a strict rule for NZ not to welcome 2nd courser nurses. I have seen plenty of Doctors, Dentists, Med techs turned nurses now well settled and happily working in NZ. I guess it is more of at the discretion of the agency/employer not to hire 2nd courser nurses. But in General, so long as you possess a nursing degree, with nursing experience, then I dont see any reasons for anyone to get denied.

Goodluck to all of us. Again as what I am always suggesting, considering the retro in US, and the economic crisis that Philippines is also facing, consider the idea of working abroad for time being.

And yes, I share my regret with tabacching dj. If only I knew too, that I have to wait this long, I should have flew for Canada/Australia instead. But we've waited this long, now no choice but to wait, we believe we're near to a happy ending.

Godbless...

Hello everyone. I just discovered this site a month ago and i'm finding it very informative. I read several blogs about being documentarily qualified so to check whether I'm also documentarily qualified (PD June 06)I asked my brother to call NVC, they said they're waiting for some documents. When I called my agency they said they're still waiting for my PD to be current before they send my updated DS230s and other documents. How can I be documentarily qualified if my agency is holding onto my documents? I got worried since I noticed that some people with PDs later than mine are already qualified...Can you pls enlighten me on this matter nurseidol, t-cell,and all the other experts? Thanks

Hi tabachingdj... we have the same PD Nov 2005. Hope our PD will be current this December Vb.

Anyone here with PD between Jan 2005 to May 2005? Since you guys are current this November VB, please share with us if you already received your interview scheds.

Anyone who have finished their medicals and interviews last October, please share with us your experience during medical and interview so we will have an idea when our time comes. Thanks.
