Hello to everyone, it's been awhile. We are almost 4 months here in MA......

May 01, 2009 (Phil. Time): Left our beloved country
May 01, 2009(US West Coast Time), 730PM: Arrived in LAX, we were processed there as our port of entry, took about 1 1/2 for processing. Boarded connecting flight to Boston @ 10PM.
May 02, 2009 (US East Coast Time), 6AM: Arrived at Logan International, pick-upped by our agent.

We stayed for a week in the staff house provided by the hospital for foreign nurses then moved to our apartment on May 09 in Stoughton.

Started general orientation on May 11 to May 13,  then started computer training for MEDITECH documentation, nursing procedures etc. until May 22. Assigned to the Respiratory Unit working 3-11 shifts. Reported to the unit, oriented for 4 weeks in the AM shift then another 2 weeks in the evening shift. After 6 weeks of paid orientation, I started as an RN II in July......Received our GREEN CARDS after 2 months!

(to be continued.....)

Hi t-cell,

I have also read about the case status thing at Ron Gotchler's site.  One's voice message change from being "case complete and wait for 8 weeks", to, "wait for 15 mos. and that he's case is not addressed to be complete".

http://www.immigration-information.com/forums/consular-processing/8778-case-completed-at-nvc.html

You can view it with the link above.

Mines' voice inquiry respond is still the same, case complete, wait for 8 weeks.

Tnx.

Thanks, Yang.  I was contemplating of posting that same link here as well. smile

Weird thing is someone there knows about 50 others who were previously doc. qualified but NVC has recently been asking again for their DS-230 form and police clearances.

However, there is another member there as well that specifically asked NVC if he will still need to update his DS-230 again and was advised that it won't be needed anymore which a member in our site, cutienurse, has said before as well.

Very weird.  Makes you think sometimes how organize NVC is.

I have decided to make my inquiry via e-mail and will probably have a response 1-2 weeks from now. I also asked if I will be made to update my Ds-230 forms and police clearance again (hopefully not as I have given them the same thing twice already). Sabadao and me had the same response when we made the inquiry last June.

Likely possible that NVC will no longer ask for document-update.  I have heard it from so many nurse immigrant applicants and that is what the NVC representatives had exactly told them. Nevertheless, we must not discount the possibility that NVC will asked for them again as this is what is being done traditionally.  Pays to be ready all the time though it will be another expense on our part.

I was able to convince some of my friends with PDs of 2006 to call NVC and ask for updates. They told me that they heard same old auto-voice message...

At this point, let us keep ourselves closely monitored with our case status, if there'll be any significant developments, please share/communicate  it with us so we could get credible prediction/s of what shall happen in the coming months.

Best of luck fellow nurses. Few more days...October VB can't wait to see how you'll look like. devil

Hi t-cell/nurseidol,

I have also inquired on-line with NVC just today, hoping for a much better response.  I am also somewhat worried, why are others being ask for updated docs when they are already case complete just like ours.  Is it becoz their papers were pulled out at random (hope not) with PD much newer than ours, like Oct.- Dec. 2006.  That will be a worry if that happend.. quite unfair don't you think?

But, im still hoping for the best.

Cross our fingers nurses!  God Bless!

Hello Anesthesia. Welcome to our forum.

I understood your Priority date is June 2005.

Having this Priority date makes me feel that you are near to the finish line. Well just a gut feeling having encountered some unconfirmed news that a nurse with a PD of July 2005 is now having her interview schedule this coming october 2009.

Can I possibly know when was the last time your case is declared as documentarily qualified/case completed by the NVC?  As what Atty. Gotcher have said, applicants with earlier PDs and with case completed status are the ones to be allotted first with appointment schedules by the NVC.

Hoping for more positive and unveiling EB3 news in the coming days. Keeping fingers crossed.

Hi nurseidol...and tcell...
I have been documentarily qualified a year ago, around september 2008. Though your news is unconfirmed yet about someone with july 05 pd, it gave me a feeling of hope and excitement.
Just in time after posting  a message here a few hours back, i received an email from our employer saying that they are still committed to bringing us in the US. thanking us for our patience..blah blah..
I don't understand why but I have a feeling (started this day) that things are paving its way to our american dream..

We're glad that you finally decided to join.  smile

Wow, I sure want to receive an e-mail like that from an employer. Consider yourself very lucky.  Being assured like that would lift up anyone's spirits.

What State is your employer in ? Make sure you still choose to get vaccinated for the swine flu if it will only be optional in your State and not mandatory like in NY State.

So far, only NY State has said they would mandate it to all health care workers.

I'm still waiting, just like everyone else.  You are of course waiting longer than I am.

PD: Oct 2006.

Here's NVC's reply to my inquiry regarding my status (PD- July 2006). I asked my agency bout it and they told me, the PD being processed is way back my PD hence it's not wise to pay now. Would it be advisable if I pay on my own? Thanks!

Good Day,

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The NVC is waiting for the payment of the Immigrant Visa Processing Fee
Bill for one or more of the derivative beneficiaries. Please submit the
missing payment using the instructions you previously received.

You must visit the Department of State's website:
www.ImmigrantVisas.State.Gov, Fee Collection, to pay the required
processing fees on-line. You will need your case number and invoice ID
number to properly pay your fee.

Payers who are unable to pay online must follow the alternate payment
instructions. Go to the above website and click the "Fee Collection"
link, then the "Alternative Payment Method" link, and follow the
directions displayed.

Once the payment is received and processed, you will be given
instructions on how to download the instruction packets and the
appropriate forms on-line. The instruction packets and forms will not be
sent to you by the NVC if your payment is made on-line. You will need to
mail the appropriate forms to the NVC in order to complete your
immigrant visa processing. Please follow the instructions provided to
you by the website.

The NVC is sending a duplicate packet. Please allow at least 10-15
business days for the packet to arrive.

Hello Mqtorres.

The cut-off date for EB3 for the month of November stays the same at June 2002. Having a PD of July 2006 makes me say that I agree with your agency that the PDs being processed presently is way too earlier than the PD that you are having.  However, telling you that it's not wise to pay the Visa Fee Bill at this point in time is something that I would personally disagree.

NVC had already advised that you need to settle the Visa Fee Bill. If there is anyone who knows when is the best time to settle it, it's the NVC since they are the one who is working on it. And also, by paying the VFB, you will certainly move a step forward with your application and can even be declared as documentarily qualified once DS230 and other requirements are met.  As much as possible, I advise you to be obedient with NVC so as to avoid any delays.

Yes I agree that the cut-off date is very much retrogressed, but what if a big twist will suddenly happen making your PD current?  You and your agency will end up rushing things up and possibly, a big delay will ensue which none of us wants to happen. Another possible consequence is paying a higher VFB by the time your agency decides to settle it. Fees are never constant.

If the agency does not want to pay the VFB now because it will come from their pocket, then they're wise, but never a wise idea not to settle it now when NVC is actually asking for it already.  If you have the financial means, you can arrange this with your agency and tell them that you'll gonna settle it first, then they just have to reimburse later.

God Bless you. Just my humble opinion.

Thank you so much for having time to respond. I was thinking the same as yours, that is, paying the VFB on my own. It's quite a sum considering I have 4 more dependents to paycryingcrying crying

hello all,
Nice to always have to read these threads they greatly encourage me knowing am not alone in this long wait.My priority date is march 2005, but something intresting just happened and my recuiter sent a mail that: please read below the mail

I want to update you as to what is going on with Immigration.

Retrogression will be lifted possibly as early as December 1, 2009 – we will receive an additional 50 thousand unused visa numbers, just for nurses and their immediate dependents (spouse and children) who will be exempt from the annual quota until 2012.

Your case is at the National Visa Center – and ordinarily, now s the time that the Hospital Sponsor is responsible for paying us the initial upfront costs of $4500.00 to pay our attorney and the initial filing fees.

HOWEVER – because hospitals have been waiting in some cases since 2006 (just before we went into retrogression) for their nurses, no one is at present paying these up front costs.

Sadly, I can no longer afford to lay out these costs for our nurses anymore, as we too haven’t gotten any nurses in since December 1, 2006 when retrogression started.

In order to be able to continue processing our nurses’ cases, we need a deposit of $4000.00, once you arrive and start working, the hospital pays us and you will be reimbursed these expenses.
Please read the attached document carefully – if you wish to continue with your filing, please email me stating that you have read and agree to the terms and condition
Has anyone any info as above? can you help verify the authenciy of this info? beside with the economic meltdown this is alot for me to pay.........
