We have been getting not so good news lately that the other side of the Oct. VB has not been given much interest.

Remember, the Oct. VB has a cut-off date of Jan. 1, 2005.  Meaning, all those with 2004 PDs who are already documentarily qualified will have their cases processed again.

Expect your packet 4s or interview dates to be given.  This is good news.  The base cut-off date being Jan. 1, 2005 at the start of the fiscal year is good news as well.  I think I would not be too optimistic if I say that there is a good chance that once cut-off dates start moving forward again that cut-off dates may reach the Jan. 1, 2007 cut-off date.

So, those with 2004 PDs and I know there are still a lot of you out there may want to keep up to date with what is happening with your cases with others having the same PDs as well.

You may use this dedicated thread to share your PDs and update each other if you will be receiving your packet 4 or interview dates soon.

Good luck to everyone. Wink

Since there has been recent reports of someone with an early-2005 PD being granted an interview date already and scheduled for Oct. I have decided to broaden the coverage of this thread to include those with 2005 and 2006 PDs as well.

This is surprisingly good news since we are still in Sept. and the Oct. VB's cut-off date for EB3 ROW and EB3 Philippines are Jan. 1, 2005.  Supposedly, only those dates before the cut-off date are suppose to be the ones being processed.

If this report of someone with an early 2005 PD getting an interview date prove accurate then it only means that there might be a forward movement that can be anticipated in the Nov. 2008 VB.

It would be good for people (esp. those with 2004 and 2005 PDs) to share with others on the status of their cases if indeed there are cases that are moving forward and a dedicated thread such as this one is what everyone needs.

**Those who wants to share may please state at least their PD, state whether EB3 ROW, Philippines, India, etc...  and share if they have received their packet 4 or interview appointments and the date of the interview date.

Example:

PD: Jan. 1, 2005

Visa Category: EB3 Philippines

Status: 1) Case just labeled as documentarily qualified - no packet 4 yet,  or

             2) Just received packet 4/interview appointment

Interview date: 1) No interview date yet

                         2) Oct. 15 2008

Current status: 1) Awaiting passport stamped by US Embassy/Consulate

                        2) Received passport and duly stamped by US Embassy/Consulate

Hi. My name is Chistopher. I am a filipino nurse presently working here in Kuwait. Like most of you here, I am also awaiting for my US immigrant visa.

My consular post is Kuwait US embassy since I am presently here, but accordingly, since I am a filipino, PDs must be followed according to the birthplace of the applicant. Thank God that it's January 2005 for Philippines this coming october.

My PD is July 7, 2005

I was documentarily qualified last July 31, 2008

Status: Still awaiting for visa number.

Hopefully I will have the chance this year. Nurses with Pds like me, please keep us posted too.

Thanks for this useful and informative thread.

No one can really know for sure until when retrogression will last and esp. as detailed as even giving a exact date.  It may be lifted a few months from now, next year or two.  No one can predict what can happen with certainty.  You just have to update yourselves with what's going-on with regards to immigration and our forum is a nioce resource for just that.

You just have to keep updating yourselves with the monthly Visa Bulletin.  Sadly, that is the only thing that we can do in addition to praying that a bill like HR 5882 (visa recapture) or HR 5924 (nurse relief bill) gets approved in the US Congress.

With that long of a PD, we could not help but wonder if your case is really sill active.  You may want to contact NVC (presuming you are doing consular processing) or USCIS directly to know if your file is still open and active.

Goodluck.

No one can know for sure, we just have to wait for the monthly VB.

Even if your PD becomes current, is no gurantee.  Many people's PD became current last fiscal year (some even w/ an earlier PD than yours) as well but they never received the packet 4 and NVC never changed their automated answer (phone and e-mail) from them being placed on the list of being documentarly qualified.

Some even were on the documentarily qualified list since last June and still no change from NVC until the cut-off dates from the VB retrogressed again to "unavailable" and now again moved forward to Jan. 1, 2005.

However, the bright side of the story is that the base cut-off date at the start of the fiscal year (Oct.) for EB3 ROW and EB3 Philippines is Jan. 1, 2005.

I think there is a good chance over time that the cut-off dates will reach the whole of the 2006.

Right now, those with a 2004 PD are getting their packet 4s now.

I guess, to make the long story short, we just have to update each other on what's happening on tracker threads such as this.

This is just my two cents.  I'm sure some members will have their own opinion on it. Laughing

Hello.

Been silently reading this forum for weeks now. Finally I decided to join in hopes that in will give me more chances of knowing people with same status as mine.

Case Filed At the USCiS : August 9, 2005
Priority Date : August 9,2005
1st I140 approval Notice : February 13, 2006
2nd I140 approval Notice : May 2007
Visa Fee Bill Paid : May 2008
Docs Received at th NVC : June 2008
Date case completed : July 31, 2008
Medical and interview date : ????
Visa on hand : ????

Case delayed due to some reasons. Application has been inactive from February 13,2006 till May 2007.

Thank God everything seems fine now. Just awaitng for my PD to be current once again. Phoned NVC, AVR says same thing, "Case completed July 31,2008, wait for 8 weeks for furhter instructions.

I am eager to see the November Visa Bulletin. Can anyone give a rough estimate on where the PD could be by Nov? It's Ocotber 10 now, quite unusual, no recent VB yet in mumbai consulate...

Thanks and Godbless

Welcome to the forum nurseidol. Smile

Yes, quite unusual that the consulate in Mumbai hasn't posted anything yet.

Thank you for registering and this is a good site and a good thread to post at first to meet more nurses from around the world who are on the same status as yours.

Good luck to everyone.  Innocent

**Just an update for everyone. Just found out that Monday (13th)is a holiday (Columbus day) in the US and USCIS will be closed. The U.S. Dept. of State will probably be close as well, so as far as the official VB I think it will prob. be published on the 14th or 15th. Also, the consulate in Mumbai recognizes both Indian and US holidays, so I guess we won't have anything at least until the 14th.
